This quote from Pamela Des Barres facebook sums it all up:

These lazy, hazy almost non-days in between Xmas and the New Year are like being back in the womb...

Off to London tonight! A mix of excitment and apprehension about doing my
Angelic Reiki training. In just a few days time i could be a Practitioner!
Eek. Tomorrow i'm doing a Violet Flame healing course. There are only 3 of
us doing it so it will be extra special attention. I have decided to make a
complete change after this weekend. I'm no longer going to let the moaning
and complaining in work affect me. I'm going to try to switch off anything
negative and not take it under my notice. I'm going to try to be nice to
EVERYONE i come into contact with (and believe me at work that wont be
easy). I am determined to heal myself and to be the best at what i do in
helping to heal others. I've come a long way, but i know i still have lots
more work to do.

Got my car cleaned last night. The guy came to my house and it took him 2
hours! It looks like a completely different car!
I am driving it to the airport, but hopefully the roads will be quiet at
that time. I'm fine on roads where i dont have to start and stop much. I
am trying so hard to do positive affirmations every day: "I am an excellent
driver", "I love to drive!" etc.! Hopefully it will work someday...

Must go decide what clothes to bring...how to be comfortable yet stylish at
the same time is always a difficult thing.

My computer hates me and I hate it.
I'm having endless troubles, from my printer not working so i can't make new products, to not being able to install my new spreadsheets for my bookkeeping, to just plain simple things like the Facebook multiple uploader not working and it taking forever to upload my Seattle pics with the old uploader.

I've had a few LJ friends ask for info on my Seattle trip, which i know i have posting nothing about.  I started trying to write proper journal entries about it, but gave up, maybe i'm still too sad about it being over to actually write about it.  So i'll just quickly post what i did each day, then provide the ever important photos - which i warn there are SO MANY because we decided to do a multiple photobucket between the 5 of us, however me being the dumbass that i am, forgot to bring my digital camera and my disposal prints came out like crap!  So i am ETERNALLY GREATFUL to the wonderful Jade, Eryn, Stephanie & Jenny for uploading all their photos.

ROLL UP, ROLL UP, READ ALL ABOUT IT! )
DAY 1:
We packed SOOOOOOO much into our first day!
Lunch in U-District at a yummy vegan pizza place, met the writer Charles R Cross and gossiped about musicians.
Shopped in vintage stores in U-District (my best buy were 2 old gig posters for Pearl Jam & Nirvana).

Went to a beach in a really upmarket area of Seattle.  Didn't stay long, but did almost get killed by speeding cars and walked at least a million steps up the steepest hill i've ever seen.

Dinner in even yummier Typhoon (i had the buddha's feast!) followed by drinks in the Central bar with entertainment from a local Alice in Chains sounding band.
Eryn and I went to see a band she's friends with on My space called "Perfume". They sucked. But the night was hilarious with Eryn getting very drunk on a few drinks and me laughing at/with her!  Met a cute boy playing guitar on the pavement called Josh, he drove us home...then we realised i'd lost my wallet.  Ooops.

DAY 2:
Spent morning phoning UK card protection to get money wired to me because of lost wallet and credit cards.  Got money wired to Western union, went to pick it up, got breakfast and fruit snacks at Seattle's public market just blocks from our hotel, The Moore.

Jade arrived!  Then we took a bus to Lake Washington and the former home of Mr & Mrs Cobain.  Only Stephanie, Jenny & a Scottish guy playing guitar were there.  It was a beautiful sunny day and we lay around in the park, being stalkers over the fence & just absorbing the beautiful energy.

Headed to Capitol Hill for more shopping, followed by dinner of a veggie burger.  On our way we visited the "Rat House" (former home of the Gits), Frances Farmer's old house and one of my personal highlights - THE SINGLES APARTMENT BUILDING!

Headed back to Kurt's park for a candlelight night vigil.  We sat in a circle while Scottish boy played his guitar and we sang Nirvana songs for hours and hours and had many laughs.

The night ended perfectly with a mystical stranger named Bo giving us glowsticks, and then getting on the magical mystery bus with the happiest driver in the world.

DAY 3:
Hired a car for the 2 hour pilgrimage to ABERDEEN!  Parked car just a block from one of Kurt's childhood homes, headed "Underneath the Bridge".  A memorial had finally been up for him - a sign with his picture, and the lyrics to "Something in the Way".  As well as a sign under the bridge which read "In Memoriam from the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah".  We did some grafitti, left offerings for Kurt, took loads of photos...it was another gorgeous sunny day full of laughter and giddyness!

Had lunch in Subway, I bought new knickers in Walmart!  (it was the first time me & Jade had been in a Walmart!)
Went to meet an old friend of Eryn & Stephanies who shall remain nameless but he was such a sweet guy and so generous with his hospitality and showing us around his house.
Stopped off at a tiny place called Georgetown, just to touch the street sign that Eddie Vedder once touched in a photo shoot!
Had dinner at a vegan chinese restaurant, then went to Easy Street Records where we all bought tshirts and got free stickers (just because Eddie Vedder has the same sticker on his suitcase!)
Went to the fountain at Space needle and chilled for a bit before heading back to the Moore.

DAY 4:
The Only Source of Light (our new band) split up temporarily for the day so me, Jade & Jenny could do the tourist things which Eryn & Stephanie had done many times before.  Jade and I went to the Space Needle.  It was a bit of an anti-climax.  Took 2 mins to get to the top, walked around it, took some pictures and that was it!  We randomly ran into Eryn afterwards and went for lunch and just sat by the fountain for a few hours, chilling out and writing in our journals.

Eryn went to meet her friend and Jade and I walked around downtown buying gifts etc.
We all met up for dinner at a Mexican place and Eryn arrived very drunk on vodka. Total rockstar! lol
Eryn decided to sit out the evenings drinks, and the rest of us went to 2 bars (which the names now escape me, so if anyone can remind me, please do!  See this is the trouble with not writing your journal at the time!)

DAY 5:
Went to Gasworks Park (home of a famous Pearl Jam photoshoot, which we did our best to recreate!)

Eryn and I filmed a scene from Singles when Linda tells Steve she's pregnant.

Went to see a big troll who lives under a bridge.

Had lunch in a greek restaurant.  I had greek coffee for the first time, which was STRONG and pretty disgusting.
Went window shopping in Ballard.  Went to Ballard Botanical gardens, more photoshoots.  Ended the day with the best meal i've had in ages at Ray's Boathouse (the restaurant Chris Cornell used to work in).

DAY 6:
Breakfast at the Waterfront, last bit of grafitti, said goodbye to Jade (but only for a day until i saw her again!), went to airport, said goodbye to Eryn, Stephanie & Jenny.  Got plane to New York to spend a few days with Jade before home.

Very brief version of what happened.  I have some things in my paper journal - i wrote in it everyday i was in Clearwater Beach, so i'll get around to posting that sometime soon.

Most importantly - HERE IS A LINK TO THE PHOTOBUCKET!  theonlysourceoflight

Just dropping in to say the past few weeks have been the best in my life!  I've had such an amazing time in Clearwater beach and Seattle and now i'm in New york with Jade.  We're just getting ready to go into Manhattan.  I was good at writing my paper journal in Clearwater  but not so much in Seattle cuz we had so much to do and no free time.  but i will try to remember the best bits and maybe back-date my journal here.

Any of my friends who want to see some photos now, head over to www.viperroom.org if you're not already there - we have posted some of our Kurt related photos there already.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with my new Harajuku Lovers perfume!
Yes i bought GWEN, the leader of the pack!  It is so yummy and smells of coconut!
But i plan to collect all 5 - Love, Angel, Music, Baby.  They are just TOO cute.
I have decided I will pick 3 up on my holidays as little postcard souvigners from each place I visit.

ANGEL - i will buy in Clearwater, FL because that's the first place I learned about the magic of the angels from the lovely Miss Beverley.
MUSIC - I will buy in Seattle obviously because the best music ever made came from there.
LOVE - I will buy in New York because I LOVE Noooo York!

So if anyone wants to buy me Baby for my birthday then i'll have the full collection by the end of April ;)

I suppose I should blog about something in the real world for a change, even
though it depresses me to even think about it.
But yes, i do live in N-Ireland, and yes there has been 3 shootings by the
IRA this week - the first time a police officer has been shot for 10 years
and also 2 British soliders, and the 2 Polish boys who were delivering their
pizza at the time!

Firstly, can i say that as always, the media is blowing everything out of
proportion. Yes, it is very upsetting to the people here what has happened,
but I have been getting texts from people in America asking if i'm ok
because of what they've seen on the news, and how awful it must be living
here. Well no, to be honest nothing has changed other than the fact that
people are talking about it constantly, rumours are starting that the
loyalists are going to attack this place or that place in revenge, people in
my work are talking about not going to certain bars or areas because of the
fear of being shot or blown up.... Its draining the life from me. The more
people fear and the more people talk, the more bad energies they are
putting out to the universe and in turn things will definitely get worse!
The same with the constant talk about the recession...if the media and
people would just SHUT UP about it for 5 mins, maybe it wouldn't keep
getting so bad. Maybe some people would call this "putting your head in the
sand" but i'd much rather bury my head and live in a positive way, than
constantly spew negativity from my mouth.

And if the troubles do start here again, I'll just leave. I have no quams
about moving to a secluded beach in Spain or somewhere, now i have my
Reflexology I could easily get a job out there. I have fell back in love
with this country over the last 10 years, it was an ok place to live but if
it does go back to how it was when i was a teenager in the early 90s, then
i'll just leave. And i think a lot of people will be in the same position.

The line up for Oxegen Festival this year is pretty amazing:  Headliners - Kings of Leon, The Killers & BLUR!   I have to say it brought a tear to my eye watching Damon & Graham performing "This is a Low" on the NME awards.  Louise and I are definitely going on the Friday to see them, but we're also now contemplating going for the full weekend since there are some other great bands playing- THE MANICS!, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jane's Addiction, NIN,  The Mars Volta, Pete Doherty, Razorlight...to name just a few.  The trouble is CAMPING.  The festival is renowned for being a horribly dirty place - mostly caused by the total ASSHOLES that attend.

HOWEVER i have just discovered they have a special VIP Green Tent area for those sophisticated types where you can hire your own ready put up and fully equiped Teepees!!  Only trouble is i cant find out how much they cost... the Pods & Myhabs are way too expensive but even if the Teepee was like £100, between the two of us, i think we would do it.  Green Camp Info

I also think it would be nice for me and Louise to go to this together because we've been friends since we were 15 and have been to so many gigs and festivals together in the past, but it all stopped in the last few years because she has 3 kids now.  And because she can't get babysitters Pat, her hubby would have to stay at home so it would be just us - girls together again!  Without him (who i love to pieces but it would still be so nice to be just us again).  Louise is turning 35 next week, I'm turning 33 next month... how many more chances are we going to have to do something like this together??

I really want to stay in one of these super cute pods!! But they're too pricey.  The Green campsite would be great though even it was in a TeePee - own toilets and showers!

I thought I would share my current skincare regime using my Angel Potions products, because honestly my skin has never been in better condition.
I have always suffered with very dry, red blotchy skin – its part of the reason I started using natural products, and then deciding to make my own. After just a few months of dedicating time to this regime, my skin is so soft and moisturised and the red blotches are slowly disappearing. So here it is:

 Evening:
Remove make-up with Witch Hazel & Eucalyptus Cleanser – I apply directly to skin and move in circular motions, then remove with cotton wool.

Tone & remove traces of make-up with Lavender Pure Organic Floral Water – Apply to cotton wool and sweep gently over the face.

Apply a small amount of pure Rosehip Oil to the face – this oil is the best skin regenerator and is wonderful to prevent skin from aging & drying. It’s a miracle oil, really! It is known as a “dry oil” which means it won’t leave your skin feeling greasy, however I find it a bit too oily to use before makeup which is why I only use in my Evening regime.

 Morning:
Most mornings I simply apply Pure Organic Floral water to cotton wool to refresh as my skin is well cleansed from the evening before.

About 2-3 mornings per week, I will use Cucumber & Eucalyptus Exfoliator (which his coming soon in my store) to deeply cleanse.

Then I apply some daily moisturiser and leave for a few minutes before applying my foundation.

I also treat my skin to a face mask or deep cleansing scrub once a week. I will post some homemade recipes for that soon!

I am now twittering:  http://twitter.com/RainCornell   I picked a very ambiguous name, because originally it was Angel Potions but i found when googling my website, my twitter was very high on the search along with a quote about Axl Rose's balls...possibly not the most professional  front for my new business.  So i'm listening to Cornell's new solo album, and its  raining...hence a new persona is born!

I don't do it much, but i do enjoy reading about Jonathan Ross putting his kids to bed every night.  And Russell Brand is endlessly entertaining as always.

I was quite shocked to read on Mr Trent Reznor's this evening that he's "going to a REFLEXOLOGY party in Perth tonight"!!!   Little did i know how rock n roll my new profession is!  I would love to know what a Reflexology party is though, and what exactly goes on in them...for some reason i'm conjuring up an image of perverted men wearing leather with foot fetishes.  But of course i could be totally wrong...maybe Reznor is spiritual these days?

I am making a concious effort to blog more.  I miss it.  I have busy with my business & house selling & working but thats really no excuse to stop my writing.  It used to be the only thing that kept me sane.  So I will try to make this blog as representative of my life now as I can.  My personal entries will still be friends only, but I will make public posts on more general subjects and also on the progress of my business and products.

I am also looking for some new blogs to read, because it seems most of my friends here don't post very much, so if anyone knows any cool, interesting blogs let me know...doesn't have to be on LJ either...wherever!

And I should mention that I was recently featured in one of the most awesome blogs around today by the fabulous auther stephaniekuehnert.blogspot.com/   I was featured on her weekly fixture WOMEN WHO ROCK which i was completely flattered by!

On a completely random note:- How long do rainbows last?
I ask because I was coming home from grocery shopping today, I turned into my street and there was the most gigantic and beautiful rainbow i'd ever seen in my life.  It actually brought tears to my eyes when i saw it.  So i went inside, put down my shopping bags, grabbed my camera and went outside to take a photo of it....and it had gone....in like 2 minutes.   Then i started to wonder if i had actually seen it all....
